Program: Annual meeting

"CSSM Needs You! or It Takes a Community - Get Out and Vote & Join the Show Committee"

There is no presentation at this months meeting instead we will
be holding our annual meeting where we will elect club officers
to shephard up into the next season starting in September.

In addition we will be discussing our 4th annual C&S show to be
held in September at Tower Hill. Holding the show in September
is a departure from the tradition when most C&S shows are held
in the spring. This is going to take some special coordination on
our part since we do not hold regular meetings over the summer
so we will be putting together a show committee to oversee the
planning for the show during the summer months.

We will also be holding all of our usual activities: auction,
raffle, plant competition, seed bank, library and let's not forget
the most important parts - food and friendship! Help celebrate
the coming of spring and the start of the growing season.

Newcomers are cordially invited!

Check out the Events page for future meetings.

About the CSSM

The Cactus and Succulent Society of Massachusetts is a diverse group of people who grow all types of succulent plants.  From September to June we get together on the third Saturday of each month (see schedule for exact dates) to share our common interest, and to learn more about the plants we all love.

Since the founding of the CSSM in 1991, the group has participated in the New England Spring Flower Show several times, winning blue ribbons and other awards.  Our members also compete individually in the amateur horticulture division of the Flower Show.  In 1996 and 2008 we hosted the Eastern Cactus & Succulent Conference with guest speakers from around the world.

Our meetings usually feature a speaker, slide show, or some other type of educational program; plant show; socializing time; plant raffle and/or auction; and a short business meeting.  Non-members and guests are always welcome, and our refreshment table is well-stocked.

Members can borrow items from our extensive Library of Cactus & Succulent books, journals, and videos (see Library List)

Membership dues are $20 per year per household, and includes a subscription to the CSSM newsletter (see sample).
